![]() I built the deck intending to never have a chance to activate and that held pretty true 9 times out of 10. So, my main problem with Golos is that it was basically just a 5 mana ramp spell. Or perhaps they hate atraxa playing scrubs, who knows sometimes. If you change the strat to +1 counters perhaps you will see them not target you as much. So walkers are clear threats, and if you cant answer them then gg. ![]() Meanwhile all interaction was used to stop the aggro player leaving the combo player to just "win out of nowhere". Many people hate combo players because it's just suddenly they win the game. You just have to understand that people naturally tend to think threats they can clearly see are more imminent than ones they cant. Turn 8 or 9 slap down liana dreadhorde general and immediately ult and its game over. And with the new vorinclex and doubling season you can two card combo people. You will have 15 to 25 cards in your deck that if left alone for 4 turns wins you the game. And it's not even fair to complain that they are. If they swing it is at your walkers because they provide so much raw value they have to be dealt with. If the can remove creatures they get rid of atraxa so you cant poliferate at end step. Walkers have immense power and if a single one ults you are done for. Your problem does not really sound like it is caused by atraxa but rather by super friends. Being arch enemy does not mean bring out the stacks peices btw. There's no reason to attack me.Įnsnaring bridge is probably better for you. I've tried to be honest and open in the thread and I'm listening to everyone. People have called me a narcissist and many other names. This community is usually very positive but I'm shocked by the negativity here in the last few hours. I'm getting a lot of honestly hurtful hate for no other reason than the fact that I've admitted to playing Superfriends and asking questions about it. If you build around a commander with a reputation for being powerful in a casual way, make sure your group knows that.Įdit 2: Please stop attacking me with vitrol for playing superfriends. If you're going to make the deck strong, be prepared to fight off 3 opponents. Hate that leads to people losing games because they can't break focus off of planeswalkers and Atraxa."Įdit: I genuinely want to thank everyone for their take on this. Is there any way to prevent this or has Atraxa become some unfortunate meme where everyone will try to kill her first no matter what?ĭisclaimer: "I'm really not trying to complain here and genuinely looking for some insight about how to handle group politics to offset the hate that Atraxa sees. This has developed within many playgroups and some new groups have even started out pushing everything they have against me even on the first game, sight unseen because: "Atraxa". It's probably one of the lowest powered decks in the group but easily the most hated. My deck has no infinite combos, no major stax pieces and seeks to win by slowly ultimating a planeswalker or by doing Lethal commander damage in the air. Very dangerous pieces to these decks will hit the board but the players still focus everything they have at my planeswalkers and my resources, usually dying to the player who was setting up a combo or lock while the board was focused on the perceived threat of Atraxa. It's very frustrating because this happens in the face of other much more dangerous commanders imo like Kess (taking turns), Muldrotha (stax lock) and Sisay, Weatherlight Captain (combo) who are setting up. I have tried playing from behind, only dropping small creatures and my commander, helping others destroy threats, offering aid and even proliferating other people's counters in a bid to stop people from teaming up against me but it is to no avail. It seems Atraxa is allowed one win within any given playgroup and then somehow that win is so scarring that the group instinctually decides to team up and put me out right away the next time they see that witchmaw angel sitting in the command zone. Hello, I'm the much maligned Atraxa Superfriends player with a question for the Hivemind How do I stop getting gang beaten?
